Lisa Hofheimer, Vice President of Membership & Engagement

I’m honored to serve as Vice President of Membership of Temple Israel of Hollywood. My husband, Josh, and I joined TIOH in 2001 when our oldest son, Jake, entered the Nursery School. Two years later, our younger son, Tommy, followed. Both boys attended the Day School and the Religious School and celebrated their Bar Mitzvahs and confirmations at TIOH.

Over the past 18 years, I’ve held several leadership positions at the Temple and throughout Los Angeles. In earlier years, I chaired the Social Action Committee in the Nursery School, co-chaired Temple and Day School fundraisers, and served on the Ed Commission. More recently, I co-chaired search committees for our Nursery School Director and our interim Senior Rabbi. I joined the Board of Trustees in 2017.

Professionally, I’m the Executive Director of the Lee Liberman Foundation, which awards strategic grants to nonprofits working to counter identity-based hatred. In addition to evaluating funding proposals submitted to the Foundation, I work closely with our nonprofit partners throughout the grant cycle to define and manage program goals and progress and advise on funding strategies and evaluation metrics.

As a resettled Angeleno, I feel blessed to be a part of this compassionate and courageous community – rabbis, professionals, and families – who share and celebrate my most precious moments and also help guide me through life’s inevitable challenges.
