Tuesday, January 17 at 7:00 pm
with special guest Rabbi Darren Kleinberg in his talk

“What Judaism Might Still Learn From Buddhism”

Description: Boorstein, Glassman, Goldstein, Kornfeld, Salzman. For more than half a century now, Jewish-born Americans have played a disproportionately significant role as pioneers and teachers of  Buddhism in the West. But why? Moving beyond historical analysis, in this session, we will explore the appeal of Buddhism through a broad comparison of the dominant practices of the two traditions. Through both explanation and experiential learning, participants will gain clear insight into the appeal of Buddhism in the West.
Bio: Rabbi Darren Kleinberg, PhD., is Dean of the ALEPH Ordination Program and Senior Fellow with The Concentration in Education and Jewish Studies at the Stanford Graduate School of Education.
