TIOH Annual Congregational Meeting 2023

Join us for the upcoming TIOH Congregational Meeting to discuss a proposed by-law and vote on the 2023–2024 Slate of Officers.
The Governance Committee has proposed changes to the TIOH Bylaws approved by the Board on March 14, 2023, regarding how we open our community and board of trustees to individuals who do not currently identify as Jewish.

Summary of what is being proposed:
The proposed bylaw amendment aims to update TIOH’s membership and leadership policies in response to the changing landscape of Reform Judaism and the growing number of interfaith families in the congregation. The changes would allow the Senior Rabbi and President to extend membership to Jewish-adjacent individuals on a case-by-case basis, allow non-Jewish members to serve on the Board of Trustees, and extend voting privileges to non-Jewish auxiliary group chairs or co-chairs. The congregation’s president’s role would be limited to Jewish members only. These proposed changes align with the congregation’s increasing focus on equity, inclusion, and diversity and seek to enhance the TIOH community by leveraging the talents and contributions of all its members.
