Recovered Voices: Exiles in Hollywood

May 9 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The Ziering Conlon Initiative at the Colburn School, led by James Conlon and funded by Marilyn Ziering, seeks to honor composers whose lives and careers were cut short or derailed by the Nazi regime. This concert features violinist Adam Millstein, director of the Initiative, and pianist Dominic Cheli who champion these composers’ moral, historical, and artistic significance. The audience will be taken on a guided tour of the history of Jewish composers who escaped Nazi Europe and influenced the film industry, interspersed with music performances of artists such as Erich Korngold, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Max Steiner, Kurt Weill, and others.

Sponsored through the generosity of the Rosenthal Family Arts Center
$18 for non-members and guests of members.
