TIOH wants to help spread the light in December in honor of Chanukah. Here is a selection of incredible community events to help us celebrate the holiday, culminating in the lighting of our chanukiot together during Chanukah on Friday, December 23, 2022.

DECEMBER EVENTS

TIOH Speaks
Friday, December 2 at 7:30 pm
Join us for TIOH Speaks Shabbat! This monthly series after services will feature members of our community sharing their stories while enjoying a delicious catered dinner. Leading up to Chanukah, we will be hearing from those in our community who are lighting a righteous path. Special guests include Abby Leibman, President and CEO of Mazon: A Jewish Response to Hunger, Dan Nieman, VP External Affairs at Para Los Niños, and Michele Brennan, Board Member of JHPiego. Chanukah Marketplace
Sunday, December 4 at 9:00 am

Treat yourself to a day among friends and your TIOH community while taking care of your holiday shopping needs at the Chanukah Marketplace! Brought to you by the Women of TIOH and includes local businesses, dance, music, and food! For more information, click here.


Singing Jam
Wednesday, December 7 at 7:00 pm

Join Cantorial Soloist Shelly Fox and Pianist Michael Alfera for a monthly opportunity
to familiarize yourself with our Shabbat music and sing in community. Click here to RSVP.


Really G-d? Storytelling event
Thursday, December 8 at 7:30 pm

Enjoy a night of exhilarating true stories from folks who have been down for the count and got up laughing with TIOH’ers Amanda Breslow, David Weissman, Lauren Aboulafia, Gary Gilbert, Evan Salama, and Dani Klein Modisett. The evening includes festive cocktails and refreshments. Proceeds to support our annual Christmas Dinner. Click here to RSVP.


BNECC presents: Chanukah Havdalah
Saturday, December 10 at 4:00 pm

The Bay-Nimoy ECC invites all parents with small children to a special Chanukah Havdalah at the TIOH Courtyard. Come for music, activities, drinks, and snacks, and light some candles! Click here for more information.


Chanukah Shabbat Service
Friday, December 23 at 6:30 pm

Join us for our Kabbalat Services where we will celebrate Chanukah together and light our chanukiot at a community. Bring your chanukiah or two and let’s bring light into this world.


Christmas Dinner
Sunday, December 25 at 11:00 am

It’s all hands on deck to help support TIOH’s annual Christmas Dinner Holiday event, co-hosted by Hollywood United Methodist Church! Our goal is to provide over 1000 meals, baked goods, toys, books, hygiene kits, and access to social services. Volunteers are needed for Friday and Saturday, 23–24. Click here for more information.
