AV Events Technician and Tech Support Specialist

We seek an organized, proactive professional with strong interpersonal skills who will serve as the primary liaison between our clergy and constituents. Your success is centered around your ability to ensure that individuals in our community feel seen and heard as we walk with them on their spiritual journey and hold space for them during times of joy and sorrow. This position reports directly to our Senior Rabbi, manages a workflow that involves three other clergy members, and interfaces with staff on our extended professional team.

Responsibilities:

1. A/V Events Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide sound engineering for all Temple and school programming/events
  • Coordinate and perform assessments of existing AV systems to verify the proper configuration and operational integrity
  • Administer and maintain a professional cinema system
  • Responsible for setting up and administering Live streams
  • Assist with Temple and school A/V setup and repairs
  • Hire, manage, and coordinate contractors as needed to assist with events
  • The schedule includes evening and weekend events
  • Other A/V duties as assigned by the Director of Music or Director of Technology

2. IT Support Duties and Responsibilities

  • Helpdesk support for users at all levels (teachers, students, staff)
  • Manage, monitor, and clear Helpdesk requests
  • Printer/copier configuration, troubleshooting
  • Assist with light network administration
  • Assist with inventory of technology and electronic equipment
  • Assist with set-up and tear-down of technology and electronic equipment for teaching and presentation purposes
  • Assist with website management and content updates
  • Developing, updating, and disseminating system documentation
  • Other IT duties as assigned by the Director of Technology

3. Manage a system to help our clergy track, acknowledge, and provide support around life-cycle occurrences and other peak moments of need in the lives of our members, including:

  • Maintain a list of congregants confronting health struggles and track their progress
  • Manage communication on behalf of the clergy when our families lose a loved one related to funerals, shiva (mourning period), and yahrzeits (yearly anniversary of death)
  • Work with our chesed committee to provide direct support to community members at times of need, such as births, illness/surgery, and death

Requirements

  • 3+ years recent experience in Audio/Visual Events production
  • Expert level understanding of Yamaha digital audio consoles and accessories (specifically QL, LS9, and R series)
  • Strong understanding of Audinate Dante digital audio networks and integrating devices from multiple vendors (Dante Level 2 certification or above greatly desired)
  • Confident operation of digital cinema projectors and media blocks as well as standard data projectors (Specifically Christie Solaria One, Christie IMB, and Epson)
  • Expert understanding of professional audio/video signal flow and troubleshooting in both the analog and digital realm
  • Strong understanding of professional wireless microphone systems in a crowded RF environment. Experience with Shure ULX, QLX, ULX-D, and Wireless Workbench greatly desired
  • Confident operation of assisted listening systems, specifically those from Listen Technologies
  • Basic understanding and troubleshooting of Crestron A/V control systems including DM series routers and input modules
  • Experience with Blackmagic ATEM video switchers, specifically the ATEM Mini series
  • Experience with OBS or other video mixing/presentation software
  • Experience integrating Zoom in a hybrid in-person/online environment using professional hi-definition audio and video inputs
  • Experience with live streaming events using various platforms (Youtube, Facebook, Restream)
  • Strong understanding of digital video cameras (Canon XA11 and similar)
  • Knowledge of Windows 7/10, mac OS, iOS, Chrome OS
  • Must adhere to confidentiality requirements
  • Must submit and pass a Background check, TB test, and DOJ Live Scan.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Flexible schedule due to weekend work
  • Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to walk stairs regularly with equipment for use in classrooms
  • May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, stand, walk, reach
  • Must have reliable transportation to campus

The following qualities are preferred but not required:

  • Experience with Blackbaud K12 Products
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration/troubleshooting
  • Experience with Google Workspace for EDU administration/troubleshooting
  • Familiar with Microsoft Active Directory
  • 2+ years experience working in a K-12 school
  • B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field
