HHD Family Programs

During the High Holidays, we have a selection of services and programs geared for families, which are free and open to members and non-members alike. TIOH congregant Laurie Sandell has made a wonderful cartoon to illustrate some of the programs. A schedule of offerings is listed below.

High Holiday Family Programming:

Rosh Hashanah Day 1, Thursday, October 3, 2024

  • 8:30 – 9:00 am Tot/Family Service, Nussbaum Sanctuary.
  • Family/Tot Service, Nussbaum Sanctuary. A multigenerational service for families, especially younger elementary school children and tots, including stories, prayers, and a Torah service.
  • 4:00 pm Tashlich on the Beach, Annenberg Community House.

Yom Kippur 2024

  • Friday, October 11: 6:00 – 7:00 pm Kol Nidre Family Service, Miller Hall. A family-friendly High Holiday service with conversation, contemporary melodies, and an inspiring story from one of our rabbis.
  • Saturday, October 12: 8:30 – 9:00 am Tot Service, Nussbaum Sanctuary. Geared towards youngsters and families, with songs and stories from our rabbis.

High Holiday Childcare schedule (children must be registered ahead of time):

  • Rosh Hashanah Day 1, Thursday, October 3, 9:00 am–1:00 pm
  • Yom Kippur Morning, Saturday, October 12, 9:00 am–1:00 pm
  • Yom Kippur Afternoon, Saturday, October 12, 3:00 pm–6:00 pm
