Nova Music Festival Exhibit + Guided Experience

In a raw and immersive showcase of documentary film, artifacts and witness testimony, the Nova Exhibition pays homage to the experience of a festive atmosphere followed by searing tragedy when the music festival was savagely cut short by a terrorist attack on October 7 of last year. The exhibit, opening in Los Angeles in August after an engagement in New York, consists of two main spaces: one showing footage throughout the events of that day, and another displaying interviews with survivors and family members of the deceased and kidnapped.
The exhibit is brutal and unsparing, and we highly recommend that you see it with guides who can provide the context and emotional support needed to digest and fully process what is being shown. Therefore, we invite TIOH members to experience this together in one of two groups – one Hebrew-only and two English-only. These groups are limited to 20 people each.
For each group, we will first meet for a facilitated discussion about the circumstances leading to what we will see, then we will have time on our own to explore the exhibit, followed by an hour-long discussion period to process the exhibit together.
Rabbi Michelle Missaghieh and Sigi Manzuri will co-lead the tours. Sigi is a former TIOH member who raised her children in our community before making aliyah with her family. Her two daughters, Norelle (z”l) and Roya (z’l) were murdered on Oct 7 at the NOVA Festival. Alongside Rabbi Missaghieh, Sigi will guide us through this emotional and painful exhibition experience.
The fee to participate will in-part cover admission, as well as tzedakah to be used for the victims and their families.
