The Jewish Gift for Christmas
December 15 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
How Jewish is Christmas?
Learn from Cantor Dr. Jonathan Friedmann about the Jews who composed Christmas carols, decorated store windows and more!
Cantor Jonathan L. Friedmann, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism and vice president of Ezzree Institute, an interreligious graduate school training chaplains and spiritual leaders. He is also president of the Western States Jewish History Association, director of the Jewish Museum of the American West, and co-host of Amusing Jews, a YouTube show celebrating Jewish contributors and contributions to American popular culture. Jonathan is community leader of Adat Chaverim – Congregation for Humanistic Judaism, Los Angeles, and the author of over 30 books, including 100,000 Ways to Spell Hanukkah.
In addition to hearing from Dr. Friedmann, we’ll sing carols composed by Jews, decorate holiday cookies, and make cards for the Annual Christmas Dinner.
We encourage you to wear an ugly holiday sweater to really get in the spirit!
